Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management (BSFR ’26) Hometown: Peachtree City, Georgia Why did you choose your Warnell major? When I first came to UGA, I was majoring in Psychology and wanted to go Pre-Medicine. After a few months, I realized that I was unhappy with what I was pursuing and it was preventing me from following my true passions. I ended up meeting Professor Woosnam through my FYOS and, through a lengthy conversation, I decided to change my major to Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management. I've always been passionate about the outdoors—whether it be outdoor education, backpacking, or conservation. I'm so grateful that I'm able to pursue this degree through Warnell. What's one thing you want your fellow students to know about you? I'm so passionate about the outdoors and increasing access for those who have never been able to visit National Parks or other outdoor spaces. I think it's so incredibly special how a group of people can go into the woods as total strangers and come out with a deep, meaningful connection. The outdoors has always been a space for me to reconnect with myself and nature and I want to be able to share that with others- through Warnell and through my work after graduation! What's your favorite Warnell memory? I went to the Owl Prowl with a couple of my friends the spring semester of my freshman year. I remember partaking in something similar when I was in elementary school and it made me so excited to be able to do something similar. Me and my friends loved talking with Ranger Nick about the owls and we ended up getting to see a few fly right over our heads!
