Courses
Wild: 4700/6700, Techniques in Wildlife Population Management,. This course is designed to provide students with a working knowledge of techniques used to monitor, census, and determine abundance of various wildlife species. Students will learn basic research methods, how to identify animal signs, criteria for aging and sexing mammals and birds, basic indices of physiological and nutritional condition, wildlife diseases, fundamentals of necropsy, how to capture and handle wildlife species, techniques for estimating numbers in wildlife populations, radiotelemetry, and emerging technologies used in the study of wildlife populations.
