Job Description:

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources is seeking college students and others interested in environmental education to fill multiple summer camp counselor positions at the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center (CEWC) in Mansfield, Georgia.

 

Primary responsibilities are to assist with outdoor

programs and activities for day and residential camps that

focus on wildlife conservation, outdoor sports, and Georgia

natural history. Camps will cover a variety of topics including

wilderness survival, animal and plant identification,

outdoor recreation, and more! There will also be

opportunities for professional development and resume building

related to environmental education.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be self-motivated, interested in

working with children, willing to work outdoors in

various weather conditions, be conservation minded, and

enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge with people

of all ages. Preference will be given to candidates

who are currently working toward, or have earned, a

wildlife or education-related degree.

Salary:
Selected candidates will receive a biweekly stipend (based on $11/hr.) and free on-site housing.

Summer camp counselors will start May 15, 2023

and finish on July 30, 2023. Selected candidates will

receive a biweekly stipend and free on-site housing.
