We're a small school with big ideas.

At Warnell, you won’t get lost in the crowd. Even though we’re part of a large campus, our small classes and personal instruction guarantees you’ll get hands-on training from faculty who will know your name.

We offer some of the best programs in the country to learn about conservation and sustainable management of our natural resources. Learn new and better ways to use and restore our land, water, and natural habitats through in-the-field classes and research. Our graduates understand the challenges facing our world and are prepared to manage them for the future.

FISHERIES & WILDLIFE

Our fisheries and wildlife program is one of the best in the country, combining biological sciences with hands-on training. Our students learn to execute scientifically rigorous management of fish and wildlife populations. Graduates of this program go on to work as biologists and wildlife managers for government agencies, nonprofits, and in the private sector.

FORESTRY

Combine sustainability and science to work in one of Georgia’s largest industries. Forestry majors get hands-on instruction in forest ecosystems and develop critical thinking skills through problem analysis to meet the demand for wood, clean water, wildlife habitat, recreation, and conservation. Graduates find jobs in a variety of areas, using skills such as business and finance, geospatial analysis, artificial intelligence and sustainable energy or wood production. This nationally accredited program is one of the top five forestry programs in the country and is accredited by the Society of American Foresters.

NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT & SUSTAINABILITY

Learn a suite of skills related to biological and ecological sciences with this program, which allows for a flexible curriculum. Tackle complex environmental challenges that combine technology with sustainability. Graduates of this program work in areas such as community forestry, geospatial analysis, and water and soil management.
