Deadline: Wed, 03/08/2023 - 12:00pm Employer: Georgia Forestry Commission Job Field: Forestry Job Type: Seasonal, Temporary, Internship Location: Georgia Location Detail: Central/South GA Job Description: EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the Regional Forester and local foresters, the intern may assist with CRP status reviews, cost share practice planning/certification, multiple resource-based forest management plans, technical forestry assistance to landowners, trapping & monitoring of insect and disease populations, storm damage assessments, and assistance with timber sales on state lands. It is the goal of the agency to make this internship a well-rounded experience. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR BOTH: Student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in forestry, forest resources, or closely related major which includes core forestry coursework, from an SAF accredited school. Excellent customer service and organizational skills. Proficient in Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office applications. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS –Rising seniors pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in forestry, forest resources, or closely related major which includes core forestry coursework, from an SAF accredited school.
