THIS CO-OP IS FOR A STARTING SEMESTER OF SUMMER 2023

We are seeking a sophomore or junior who can commit at least 2 (possibly 3) non-consecutive semesters as a Sustainability Co-Op with Chick-fil-A prior to completing their undergraduate degree. The ideal student will be interested in renewable energy solutions and how to implement them for a more sustainable future.

Sustainability at Chick-fil-A includes Reducing Food Waste, Implementing Sustainable Packaging, Conserving Energy & Water, Supporting Responsible Sourcing, minimizing our Carbon Footprint, and Enabling a Sustainable Corporate Campus. This internship provides a hands-on opportunity for an undergraduate student to learn about sustainability issues in the food service industry, as well as participate in sustainability strategy and implementation. The co-op aims to provide real-world application to academic learning, focusing on embedding sustainability into an organization.

Qualifications:

Job Responsibilities & Activities

The co-op role will be assigned ownership of projects related to ongoing CSR focus-areas. These may

include: food & packaging waste diversion, energy & water projects, and/or Regulatory & Public Policy

projects.

• Manage projects

• Execute research and data analytics

• Present on findings

• Participate in internal meetings

• Participate in trade association calls, webinars and/or conference

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student

• Ability to think creatively and “outside the box”

• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

• Flexible and willing to work in a dynamic, adaptable environment

• Systematic approach to problem-solving

• Good communication skills (written and verbal)

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, knowledge of collaboration tools a plus (e.g. Miro)

• Demonstrated personal interest in environmental sustainability
