Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills

The job we need you to do: 

Create a sustainable, new program for our organization - Anglers for Georgia Rivers. Assist with our programs to engage and build involvement in river conservation and river recreation access for ALL.

 Coordinate Georgia Rivers Advocacy and Development related to Fishing 

Create Anglers for Georgia Rivers program to involve this community in our advocacy and fundraising Represent GR at public events 

Assist in connecting GR with outfitters, guides and industry leaders 

Support development of corporate sponsorship, foundation grant proposals, and individual donors 

Partner with other organizations, businesses and local and state governments to promote fishing and river initiatives. 

Support Paddle Georgia River Adventures - supporting Joe Cook 

Serve as support staff on river trips that range from 1 – 7 days Lead fishing trips 

Support Paddle Georgia with GIS mapping 

Support Georgia Rivers Safety and Skills Training Classes – supporting Andrea White 

Assist with safety classes as needed Teach kayak fishing classes 

Coordinate our new leading edge kayak fishing safety initiative and grow participation 

Support emerging leaders with infrastructure for new classes 

Support Georgia River Guide App/Website – supporting Andrea White/Grace Wilson Build out our list of fishing outfitters and resources for our website and app 

Provide assistance on App and related GIS mapping 

Support Safety, Conservation and Diversity Campaigns 

Support our communications campaigns about water safety and conservation

Be supportive of our diversity initiatives 

Support legislative campaigns as needed 

Assist with other programs, projects, and events as needed. 

This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

What qualifies you for the job: 

Expertise, experience, traits and skills matching many of the job responsibilities, proficiencies, and attributes listed above. 

Strong communication skills for outreach, development and advocacy. 

Ability to utilize online registration systems to manage events 

Ability and willingness to regularly work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. 

Enthusiasm and passion for protecting and restoring Georgia’s rivers. 

Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others. 

Excellent organization and time management skills.

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 Orientation towards service. 

Basic understanding of Georgia’s rivers GIS experience is a plus 

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license 

ACA Kayak and Kayak Fishing Instructor certification or willingness to earn certification during first year
