About the Opportunity Copperhead Environmental Consulting is expanding our team and actively seeking an Aquatics Project Manager to join our family of professional consultants. We are seeking a candidate who is looking to develop a long-term career in the environmental consulting industry and is open to diversification across the company.

 

Responsibilities

• Manage projects, including budgeting, invoicing, and scheduling

• Network within agencies and industry organizations to establish and expand the regional client base

• Coordinate and submit proposals

• Identify new business opportunities

• Grow client relationships and further expand business opportunities throughout the southeast

• Oversee and conduct aquatic surveys, including, but not limited to, mussels, fish, and macroinvertebrates

• Prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written material

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Eight (8) years of progressive experience in aquatic biology or related discipline

• Five (5) years of progressive project management experience

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred

• Experience preparing technical reports required

• Experience with Rapid Bioassessment Protocols and quantitative methods for scoring stream health

• Ability to travel on short notice, at night, and/or on weekends, and potentially for extended periods of time required.

• U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Section 10(a) Permit holder for aquatic species (e.g., mussels) desired, but not required. Successful candidate will be expected to pursue applicable permits.

• Open water SCUBA certification desired, but not required

• Must hold a valid driver’s license
