Develop and maintain relationships with silviculture contractors, and harvesting contractors. Knowledgeable in areas of forest silviculture, pesticide regulations, harvest operations. Implement, as part of a team, the strategic plan based on Comprehensive Property Management Plan outputs Reports to – Georgia/Florida Area Manager Specific Duties: Implement as part of a team the Mid-Atlantic Region harvesting and silviculture program and ensure quality control objectives are met. Provide ground reconnaissance to be used in the development of strategic harvest planning. Assist in the development of annual property budgets and subsequent forecasts as needed. Provide Geographical Information Systems (GIS) support for silviculture related operations. Design permit and administrate silviculture and harvesting contracts. Oversee all harvesting and silviculture operations. Provide support, in a team environment, for the prescription and implementation of chemical and mechanical site prep activities on 1,000 to 3,000 acres, annually. Negotiate timber sales with mills, dealers and loggers. Participant in the MFM safety program. Participant in the Florida Forestry Association and other professional groups Assist with the development of harvest plans. Aid in the administration and implementation of layout for harvest units on the ground. Responsible for implementation of SFI® standards for silviculture and harvesting. Manage and update GIS data for silviculture and harvest activities. Support other HNRG groups such as Acquisitions, Client Account Group, etc. as needed. Special projects as requested or needed.
