Assistant Land Manager, Natural Resource Specialist 1 (NRS1)
Full-time, Non-Permanent, Represented position
Anticipated employment is May - October 2025 
Location: Southeast Region- Ellensburg or Pasco, WA

Work Hours and Partial Telework flexibility may be available and considered 
Salary:  $3,811.00 - $5,117.00 Monthly

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity within our Southeast Region as an Assistant Land Manager, Natural Resource Specialist 1 (NRS1). This position is an entry-level position regarding the management of state lands, and in support of productivity and revenue generation. This person will work with the Land Manager to provide program oversight regarding the Region’s agriculture activities, and ensure agriculture leases within the Southeast Region are properly issued by assisting with granting new leases, amendments, assignments, and associated letters. By doing this, this position is ensuring positive revenue generation for the State Trust.

Responsibilities:

  • Helps complete lease renewal forms and reports, monitor lease compliance, assess rent adjustments, and track payments.
  • Assists with the processing of lease agreements and related documents such as amendments, assignments, and letters.
  • Conduct field inspections, prepare field documents, and complete other field work as needed by land managers.
  • Help to evaluate and track the implementation of lease Resource Management Plans to ensure ecosystem standards are met.

 

 

Required Qualifications: 
 

  • Associates of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited institution, AND one year of experience;
    OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Working knowledge of trust land management theory, principles, and related laws.
