This is a 10 month academic position beginning August 2022. - Course development and instruction of courses in Environmental Science, with emphasis in Wetlands Science and Geographic Information System (GIS). - Maintain on campus office hours, prepare lesson plans, syllabi, (including course objectives), lectures, and other course materials such as quizzes and exams, and submit final grades and attendance reports on time. - Some online instruction may also be required, as needed. - Travel may be required to fulfill instructional or service duties, including to the Brunswick Campus or the Camden Center location. - Academic advising, mentoring and career counseling. - Commitment to high-impact practices. - Professional development, service and scholarship activities. Qualifications: Educational Requirements - Doctoral degree in Environmental Science with specialization in Wetlands Science and Geographic Information System (GIS) or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution Other Required Qualifications - Commitment to highly effective/engaging science education - A desire to employ experiential learning. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience - Experience with in-person and online/hybrid instruction. - Recent experience teaching at the collegiate level. - Experience mentoring undergraduate research. - Experience with High-Impact Practices and innovative pedagogy.
