Deadline: Tue, 10/18/2022 - 12:00pm Employer: Alabama A&M University Job Field: Forestry Wildlife Other Job Type: Full Time Location: Alabama Location Detail: Huntsville Job Description: 1) Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on forest ecosystems protection, forest fire ecology, and other forestry-related courses. 2) Securing external research funding and conducting scholarly research in the candidate’s area of expertise with preference given to fields such as restoration of fire-adapted forest ecosystems, wildfire science, and forest protection. 3) Providing service to the department, university, professional societies, and communities by working on committees, advising undergraduate students, participating in recruitment activities, engaging stakeholders, mentoring master and doctoral students, and serving in professional societies. Qualifications: Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.): 1) Ph.D. in forestry, ecology, forest fire ecology, natural resources, botany, entomology, or a closely related discipline, emphasizing field-based terrestrial ecology and forest ecosystems management. ABD (All but Dissertation) candidates will also be considered. 2) A valid driver’s license. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: We seek a candidate committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, hands-on field-based teaching, and developing a nationally recognized extramurally-funded research program involving graduate and undergraduate students.
