Job Description:
  • Community Research: Identify underserved and under-resourced communities in Georgia in need of educational resources related to arboriculture, community awareness, workforce development, and Spanish workforce training.
  • Community Engagement: Establish communication with underserved communities and connect them with resources, including GAA Spanish Education Workshops and ISA Certified Arborist Exam Prep Courses/GFC provided scholarship programs.
  • Opportunity Identification: Identify and pursue opportunities in underserved communities to promote workforce development and public education, such as appearances at high schools and technical schools, community festivals, and markets.
  • Relationship Building: Foster relationships with key community members and potential partners, including schools, camps, community advocates, professional organizations, and municipalities.
  • Mission Promotion: Promote GAA's mission, Arborist Certifications, and programming within disadvantaged communities.
  • Membership Promotion: Encourage GAA membership and Spanish Educational Programming within these communities.
  • Committee Collaboration:Collaborate with the Spanish Education, Public Outreach, and Workforce Development Committees to plan, publicize, and execute programs in disadvantaged communities, occasionally requiring travel within the state.
  • Executive Support: Assist the Executive Director in various outreach-related tasks, including membership database maintenance, social media management, translation of materials to Spanish, and assistance with website updates for underserved community initiatives.
  • Event Participation: Participate in the planning and execution of GAA's Annual Tree Climbing Competition and Trees Unite Us Conference, occasionally requiring travel within the state.
Qualifications:
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a similar capacity.
  • Enthusiastic about building relationships with diverse groups of people.
  • Friendly, positive, and diplomatic
  • Detail-oriented and results-conscious.
  • Organized and capable of multitasking
Salary:
$47,000 annually.
