The position is remote eligible. However, if the selected applicant is located in the DC metro area, they will telework eligible, rather than remote.
Job Description:

The Assistant Director will directly supervise five employees: four education program specialists and one Symbols Manager in addition to 2-5 interns, volunteers, and resource assistants.

The position requires strong leadership, interpersonal, communication (oral and written), teamwork, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. The position manages the daily work of a highly skilled and motivated team and works with staffs across the agency related to analysis and execution of related programs. The incumbent is responsible for managing a program budget of approximately $1.7 million, tracking program performance, reviewing accomplishments, preparing reports, responding to inquiries, and leading team meetings and work sessions.
