The Shamblin lab seeks summer laboratory assistants for wildlife and fisheries sample curation and processing, DNA extractions, and data calling for population genetic analyses. This position will assist graduate students and the lab manager with sample tracking, processing of blood, eggshell, feather, skin, fin clips, eDNA filter, and swab samples, and DNA extractions for genotyping and sequencing for fish and wildlife species to inform conservation and management. Positions are available now. Candidates must be available to work 20-40 hours weekly during the summer. Please make your summer availability clear in your cover letter. UGA capstone data collection and continued employment in the lab possible with satisfactory performance. Applications received by March 31st will receive full consideration. 

This position will also assist the PI , lab manager, and graduate students with data calling with microsatellite and sequencing projects. Sample archiving and general laboratory maintenance are also expected. Students currently pursuing a degree in wildlife, fisheries, genetics, and related fields preferred. Recent graduates may also be considered. No former lab experience is necessary. Good organizational and interpersonal skills are essential. Attention to detail is critical, despite repetitious tasks.
