Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills

As the residential programs coordinator at the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center (CEWC), this person is responsible for organizing and implementing residential programs for students, campers, and adults. This includes Fish and Learn programs, Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) programs, summer camps, and overnight programs. Incumbent is also responsible for developing curricula, creating and scheduling family/public programs, and assisting with the training and coordinating a cadre of seasonal staff/interns with programming at the center. Other responsibilities include inventory and maintenance of supplies and equipment, purchasing supplies and materials, and assistance with regional education programs such as Keeping Georgia WILD Day.

Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Historical Preservation or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
OR
High school diploma AND One year of experience at the lower level Curator/Preservationist I (NRP030) or position equivalent

Preferred qualifications
Preferences may be given to applicants with:

  • DNR/WRD employment experience
  • Teaching experience
  • Employment history in environmental education
  • Curriculum writing experience
  • Project WILD, Project WET, and/or Project Learning Tree certification
  • Fishing and other outdoor recreation experience
