Favorite memory at Warnell: It was my first semester of forestry school. I was sitting in Mensuration class with Dr. Daniels, which we had at 8 am in the morning. I don’t think any of us liked that time, especially Dr. Daniels. As I was taking notes, I noticed a guy sitting in front of me started shaking his leg, like it was asleep. He kept shaking it, then all of a sudden he stood up and started jumping up and down and yelled “something is crawling on my leg! In my pants!” Then, a little creature zoomed across the room, obviously frightened. A guy sitting behind me yelled “don’t step on him! Don’t hurt him! That is my pet squirrel!” Apparently, he was nursing a baby squirrel back to health and kept it in a small cooler that he carried around with him. I guess the squirrel decided to sneak out for a while that morning. Its not everywhere that someone brings a baby squirrel to class.
