Chase Perren

My name is Chase Perren. I am working on my MS in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management. My focus is on outdoor recreation on public lands, specifically within US Forest Service Land. My research is focused on the impact of COVID-19 on recreation trends within the Pisgah and Nantahala National Forest in Western North Carolina. Additionally, my research will include understanding the perspective of residents within this particular Appalachian community. I completed an undergraduate Sustainable Tourism degree at Arizona State University. In between my degrees, I worked two seasons on a trail crew with Conservation Corp North Carolina and Southeast Conservation Corp. Also, I spent a summer as an Interpretation Forest Ranger in the Salmon-Challis National Forest, Idaho. These experiences contribute to my passion for outdoor recreation research and management.
