Haley Jones earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Cal Poly Humboldt, in wildlife management and conservation and wildlife, respectively. For her master’s degree, she examined gray fox habitat selection and habitat use of trespass cannabis grows, illegal cannabis cultivation sites on public forests. Now, she is using her field skills to research questions related to the spatial ecology, population status, behavior (and others) of black bears in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. Haley loves working in the field and is passionate about carnivore conservation. In her free time, Haley enjoys exploring rural areas, looking for tracks and other wildlife sign.
