Research Associate Shane Boehne grew up in Henderson Minnesota and graduated in 2015. Shortly after, Shane attended the University of Minnesota Crookston seeking a BS degree in Natural Resources with an emphasis in Wildlife Management and Ecological Restoration. During his time at the University of Minnesota Crookston, Shane had the opportunity to work with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources as a MinnAqua Intern teaching fishing and aquatic education programs, work with North Dakota State University graduate and PhD students as an Ecological Research Technician on a stream measurement project and prairie plant identification, and work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as a Wildlife Biological Support Trainee supporting management efforts on waterfowl production areas. After receiving his bachelor's degree, Shane worked with the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks as a Wildlife Technician aerially monitoring radio-collared big game in western South Dakota, worked with Prairie Restorations Inc. as an Assistant Project Manager managing plants in restored prairie areas, and worked with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources as an Urban Wildlife Technician resolving human-wildlife conflicts. Currently, Shane is working towards his master's degree which is focusing on customizing deer management in Georgia residential communities. Research Labs/Centers/Committee: Tourism Research Lab
