Spencer Womble

Postdoctoral Research Associate

I am a quantitative ecologist for the Georgia Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Unit. I have extensive experience working with water quality and wetland biogeochemistry data. My past research has focused on using ecological monitoring data to inform management decisions. During my PhD at Tennessee Tech University, I evaluated the success of wetland habitat restoration to reduce nutrient export during flooding. I've also designed and built multiple recirculating streams, mesocosms, and flow-through incubation systems to test management questions in an experimental setting. In my current role as a UGA post-doc, I provide statistical support for the National Park Service's Inventory and Monitoring division, focusing on analyses of continuous and discrete water quality data.
