Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills

Responsible for multiple-use management on tax forfeited lands within a forest management district. Responsibilities include implementing county land management plan and annual prescribed harvest goals for the district; timber sale development and administration; incorporating silvicultural, social and ecological information into forest management prescriptions; forest inventory and stand development; public relations and coordination; forest access road management; wildlife habitat projects, recreational coordination and real estate needs within an assigned dist

Job qualifications including education, experience, license, certificates, etc.:
Minimum Qualifications (Pass/Fail):
• Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry, Forest Management or closely related field (must attach transcript) and 1
year of field experience in any combination of the following: timber sale development, timber sale
administration, silvicultural prescription development, forest inventory, forest harvest planning
• OR
Associate’s Degree in Forestry, Forest Management or closely related field (must attach transcript) AND
2 years field experience in any combination of the following: timber sale development, timber sale
administration, silvicultural prescription development, forest inventory, forest harvest planning
• education (must attach transcript) and/or work experience in ArcGIS
• valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation
• successfully pass a pre-placement screen, contingent upon a job offer
• obtain a MN non-commercial pesticide applicator’s license within one year of employment
• obtain a MN DNR ATV and snow
