About Us: 

At Boatright Timber, we are dedicated to the sustainable management and conservation of our forests and natural resources. Our mission is to promote ecological health, biodiversity, and community engagement. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Entry-Level Forester to join our team and work closely with an experienced forester. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals looking to launch their careers in forestry and to work alongside an experienced Forester of 40 years. 

Job Summary: 

This position (Entry-Level Forester) will support an experienced Forester in various tasks related to forest management, conservation, and restoration projects. This role will provide hands-on experience and mentorship, allowing the candidate to develop their skills in forestry and gain valuable insights into sustainable practices. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, passionate about the environment, and ready to contribute to meaningful conservation efforts. 

Key Responsibilities: 

- Assist the experienced Forester in buying timber from landowners for harvesting. 

- Communicate with landowner on replanting and burning options. 

- Assist the experienced Forester in conducting field surveys, tree inventories, and 

assessments to evaluate forest health and biodiversity. 

- Participate in the implementation of sustainable forest management plans and restoration initiatives. 

- Collaborate with the Forester in communicating with landowners, community members, and stakeholders about forestry practices and conservation. 

Qualifications: 

- Bachelor's degree in Forestry is preferred but not required 

- A strong interest in forestry, conservation, and environmental stewardship. 

- Good communication and teamwork skills, with a positive attitude towards learning from 

experienced professionals. 

- Basic knowledge of forest ecology and tree identification is a plus, but not required. 

Ability to work outdoors in various conditions and physical environments. 

- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for fieldwork as needed.
