This opportunity entails being under close supervision, assist departments by performing basic assignments in the areas including, but not limited to Science, Planning, Technology.  This position is usually on a part-time, temporary, or co-op basis. 

Responsibilities of the Ecology/ Environmental Intern include: 

  • Assisting environmental team members with data collection and conducting basic research. 
  • Maintains records, collections, and files related to specific projects. 
  • Asist with wetland delineations, protected species surveys, and inspecting transportation structures for bats and migratory birds. 
  • Assists in the development of graphics, presentation of materials, and reports. 
  • Develops and delivers a final presentation documenting their internship experience at HNTB.
  • Expect to work about 25% in the field and 75% in an office setting. 
  • Intern is expected to work in-person in our Atlanta office
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to assist project team members with various support tasks including field surveys.
  • Seeking a degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Forestry, Fisheries & Wildlife, or related field.
  • Strong interest in transportation and infrastructure
