This includes conducting BMP implementation monitoring, developing and presenting outreach programs and technical training, and providing technical assistance to landowners, loggers, and land managers about applicable BMPs and other hydrology-related issues. This position is based out of the Florida Forest Service’s State Office in Tallahassee. As the state capitol, Tallahassee has excellent schools, diverse recreational opportunities and convenient access to sporting events, cultural activities, and nearby beaches. Qualifications: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or 6 months of experience as an Environmental Specialist I or higher with the State of Florida; or 1 year of experience in environmental protection, regulation, or health; one of the physical or natural sciences; agriculture; or engineering. Requires possession of a valid driver license. Occasional to moderate travel required. Position may respond to emergencies, including natural disasters or other type incidents requiring travel, as needed. Miscellaneous: KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of silviculture practices and Florida ecosystems; Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Programs; Skilled in the use of Geographic Information System (GIS); Skilled in ESRI ArcGIS software; Proficient in accurate data entry.
