We’re excited to welcome Dr. Lalaina Rakotoson, Environmental Justice Lawyer and President of the Board and Founder of DELC Mizàna Maitso, as part of the Warnell Seminar Series.

Title of Talk: Integrating the management of protected areas while promoting environmental justice in Madagascar: The activities and perspectives of DELC Madagascar

Speaker Bio:
Dr Lalaina R. Rakotoson is an environmental justice lawyer and Fulbright scholar from Madagascar. With her law degree from Madagascar, she also graduated from Vermont Law School VT, with a Master of Studies in Environmental Law (MsEL), and from Golden Gate University School of Law with a Doctorate of Legal Science (SJD) focusing on Marine Policy. Dr Rakotoson is the founder and Chair of the Board for the Development and Environmental Law Center-DELC and promote environmental justice for more than 25 years in Madagascar. From 2018 to 2022, Rakotoson served as the Policy and Analysis Specialist for Pact Madagascar to implement the USAID Hay Tao Program. As of 2003, Rakotoson reassures the leadership of DELC Madagascar as President of the Board.
