JOB SUMMARY, DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS: Job SummaryNorthcentral Technical College (NTC) is seeking a knowledgeable, energetic, and professional full-time faculty to teach in our Wood Science Associate Degree Program. This unique two-year program is taught out of NTC's one-of-a-kind Wood Technology Center of Excellence located on our picturesque Antigo, Wisconsin campus. This bright and modern facility houses state-of-the-art equipment and includes a 27,000 square foot secondary manufacturing lab, a 5,800 square foot Saw Filing lab, and a brand-new fully-functioning 10,000 square foot industrial training Sawmill. These facilities are not only used for our Associate Degree program, but also support several certificates and Continuing Education classes across a wide-range of topics. Our unique learning environment attracts students and industry partners from across the country. Antigo offers many lakes, expansive forested areas, and features numerous outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, hiking, golfing, camping, skiing, snowshoeing, and biking. With a population of around 8,000, the city of Antigo has a small-town feel, yet is large enough to meet your daily needs with multiple dining and retail options and a 40-minute drive from Wausau. The successful candidate will teach the current and next generation of highly skilled workers in the primary and secondary wood manufacturing industry, with an emphasis in the hardwood segment. This individual shall be comfortable teaching a diverse set of program course topics from the forest products industry, in a variety of formats, and using multiple forms of technology for instruction. The successful candidate will also work directly with businesses and organizations from across the country and support our Program Director as we continue to develop and grow the program. Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully with or without reasonable accommodation. Teaching & Student Success:Facilitate learning to students through engaging instructional strategies and methodologies through a variety of modalities, classroom activities, distance learning experiences, out-of-classroom activities, and the mentoring of students and peers.Adhere to NTC’s academic calendar, Student Connect hours, teaching assignments, post and maintain office hours, and conduct assigned classes for the scheduled length of time in accordance with the faculty contract.Assess and evaluate student performance by consistently providing feedback and grading in a timely manner, maintaining accurate student records, attendance, and lab/clinical evaluations, in compliance with relevant privacy laws, such as FERPA.Furnish written evaluations as requested by students.Maintain course outcome summaries, learning plans, Performance Assessment Tasks (PATs), syllabi, and online Learning Management System templates in the approved College format and time parameter.Actively select and use appropriate learning materials and resources including textbooks, library resources, equipment, and supplies to enhance learning.Review, revise, and create curriculum in accordance with NTC academic standards and expectations.Assist in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating a new or modified course/certificate/program. Stay current and focused on learner needs. College/Program Area Support:Maintain documentation as required by accreditation, program, or clinical sites standards.Coordinate instructional support services to meet individual student accommodation and modification needs and actively support diverse learners.Engage and participate in faculty development training, professional day activities, College in-service, commencement, team time, and other designated activities as assigned.Assist in the orientation of new full-time, part-time, adjunct faculty, and other employees within their content areas.Participate in institutional, advisory and program team and committee meetings.Attend College Open Houses (on-campus and off-campus, set-up and take down) to assist with student recruitment and in support of Student Services activities.Support and maintain collaborative relationships with business & industry, community-based organizations, and K-12 partners.Assist, participate, support, and carry out the duties as assigned. Professional Development:Maintain WTCS/FQAs and Higher Learning Commission requirements, accreditation standards, and/or licensing standards, as applicable for program areas throughout hire.Maintain professional certifications, licensures, and requirements per specific program area.Remain up-to-date professionally in the area of content expertise and the teaching profession. Minimum Qualifications RequiredIn limited circumstances, NTC may consider a combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position. Education: Bachelor's DegreeMinimum of an Associate’s degree in related field (e.g. Wood Science) with the commitment to obtain a Bachelor’s degree upon hire in a closely related field (e.g. Forest Science, Forest Management, Natural Sciences, Technical Education, or similar).
