The Job You Will Perform:

 

A Fiber Supply Associate would typically be looking at a 2 to 3-year assignment in the initial role, but would need the flexibility to relocate for future positions.  With proven results and leadership, a Fiber Supply Associate’s career could lead to future leadership roles such as Fiber Specialist, Fiber Supply Manager, Region Manager, Director, General Manager, Vice President, or other senior leadership roles.

 

Main Responsibilities

Fiber Supply Associates are responsible for the purchase and delivery of fiber to a paper mill, including pulpwood, chips, recycled fiber, and fiber fuel (biomass).  The Fiber Supply Associate supports Fiber Specialists in raw materials acquisition, harvesting, fiber quality, logistics coordination, contract negotiations, and inventory management.  A Fiber Supply Associate may also oversee relationships with vendors to insure compliance with contracts and company policies and procedures, including financial, safety and environmental performance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Forestry, Business Management, Pulp & Paper Science, Marketing, Logistics, Transportation, Purchasing, or related field
  • Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Materials Management, Supply Chain)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter as demonstrated by scholastic achievement or intern work experience and/or involvement in campus activities, clubs, student government, etc.                     
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proficiency in analytical skills.
