The possibility exists for this to become a permanent position for a person with the proper qualifications. The successful applicant will assist in a study examining the influence of an integrated intensive management program on Northern Bobwhite Demographics. This job will entail trapping, banding, and tracking northern bobwhite through rugged terrain using both VHF and GPS telemetry. For the right applicant, the possibility exists to learn to pilot a UAV for aerial-based radio telemetry. Lodging provided. Essential functions: *Problem-solve and work independently (potentially outside of cell service). *Work in a wide range of inclement conditions including hot and cold temperatures, hiking over rough terrain, and working very early mornings. *Trap, band, and place necklace style radio-transmitters and GPS backpack transmitters on northern bobwhites and scaled quail. *Safe use and basic upkeep of utility vehicles and 4x4 trucks. *Accurate and timely data entry and record keeping with common office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, OneDrive) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in wildlife or closely related field and one year experience. PAID/FIELD experience with radio telemetry strongly desired. However, willing train the right candidate. Salary: $16/hr, $24/hr for any hours above 40 per week.
