Duties

 

As a Financial Management Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

 

Researches, compiles, and analyzes qualitative/quantitative data to provide financial management advisory service and expert advice to Senior Managers, NOAA Budget, Program Managers, Business Managers and others.

Reviews and evaluates financial systems for effectiveness of internal controls and integrity of the organization's financial information.

Reviews and analyzes financial reports generated by the financial systems and determines compatibility of each with plans, prior month status, other relevant reports, and the general ledger.

Develops Budget Operating Plans (BOPs), ensuring allotments are available for obligation, certifying funds availability for grants, contracts, and credit card purchases; reviews travel authorizations and provides guidance on managing accounts and training team members.
