Job Description:

Promote the conservation of marine resources and protected species and their habitat by interpreting and analyzing fishery policies, issues, and regulation, ensuring adherence to Federal statutes such as the Endangered Species Act (ESA), the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MSA), the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other applicable environmental laws.

Use a general understanding of the regulatory laws, fish, marine mammal and/or other protected species biology, and aquatic habitat requirements to perform various technical consultations and issue permits with federal agencies.

Communicate effectively and efficiently with internal and external partners to achieve production, job, and/or conservation objectives in support of agency and management decisions. Collaborate in-person or virtually with external Federal, State, local agencies and tribes in the management and/or recovery of identified NOAA trust species.

Salary:
$69,107 - $107,680 per year
