Job Description:

Under general supervision, performs supporting tasks for all phases of trout culture, including the care of incubating eggs and rearing of newly hatched fry to fingerling and adult sizes. The job also includes the transport and stocking of fish to and from hatcheries and various bodies of water. In addition, the job requires

the operation and maintenance of hatchery equipment, facilities, and grounds as well as purchasing supplies and materials. Routine reporting of various types, such as hatchery production and stocking reports as well as administrative reports like time sheets, is a regular part of the job. Work will include a rotating work schedule among hatchery personnel for weekends and holidays and assist with Department's emergency response efforts. A hatchery residence is not provided.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are an Associate’s degree in Fisheries Management or a related field from an accredited college or university OR Completion of equivalent coursework (90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours) in Fisheries Management or a related field from an accredited college or university OR High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in the Wildlife Resources Division as a Fisheries Technician 1 (NRT060) which included responsibilities in fisheries management. Preference may be given to applicants with experience in cold water fish culture experience.
