Employer Georgia DNR Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills Under general supervision, the position manages the technical support of research, surveys, and public waters management projects aimed at protecting, assessing, and improving fisheries of rivers and lakes in Georgia. Assists the District Fisheries Biologist with all aspects of fisheries sampling, data collection, and data processing. Responds to fish kill incidents and requests for technical assistance on a variety of fisheries issues. Responsible for maintaining all field equipment, conducting fish stockings on assigned waterbodies, serving on the region’s emergency response task force, and managing the statewide aquatic greenhouse. Provides support to other work units for field sampling and hatchery assistance during peak demand periods. Work includes nights, weekends and holidays and assisting with Department’s emergency response efforts. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreference may be given to applicants with:• Experience with reservoir fisheries sampling and water quality management• Computer skills relevant to data entry and summarization• Experience in operating and maintaining boats, vehicles, and small engines• DNR/WRD employment experience• Experience with greenhouse production for aquatic habitat projects Job Field: Fisheries Job Type: Full Time Location Detail: Social Circle, GA Salary: $45,805.13 Job Benefits: How to apply:Apply online!
