Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills

Responsibilities: Under limited supervision, manages the technical support of research, surveys, and 
public waters management projects aimed at protecting, assessing, and improving fisheries of rivers and 
lakes in Georgia. Responsible for regional technical support with fish kill investigations and education 
programs. Other duties include vehicle, building, and grounds maintenance, supplies and materials stocks, 
custodial care, fish stocking, administrative support and other regional support functions as required. 
Performs some weekend and holiday duty and assists with Department’s emergency response efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in fisheries management of a related field from an accredited college or university.
OR
Associate's degree in or completion of equivalent coursework (90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours)
fisheries management or a related field from an accredited college or university
AND
One year of experience required at the lower level Fisheries Tech 2 (NRT061) or position equivalent
OR
High school diploma or GED
AND
Two years of experience required in the Wildlife Resources Division as a Fisheries Tech 2 (NRT061).
Preferred Qualifications:
1) Completion of an Associate Degree or higher in Fisheries Management
2) Six months or more of freshwater fisheries management work experience
3) Preference may be given to current DNR/WRD Employees
