Deadline: Thu, 08/17/2023 - 12:00pm Employer: Wildlife Resources Division (GA DNR) Job Field: Fisheries Water and Soil Resources Job Type: Full Time Location: Georgia Location Detail: Jasper County, GA (Marben Public Fishing Area) Job Description: Under limited supervision, manages the technical support of research, surveys, and public waters management projects aimed at protecting, assessing, and improving fisheries of rivers and lakes in Georgia. Responsible for regional technical support with fish kill investigations and education programs. Other duties include vehicles, building, and grounds maintenance, supplies and materials stocks, custodial care, administrative support, fish stocking and other regional support functions as required. Performs some weekend and holiday duty and assists with Department's emergency response efforts. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Management or a related field from an accredited college or university OR Associate's degree or equivalent coursework (90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours) in Fisheries Management or related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience required at the lower-level Fisheries Technician 2 (NRT061) or position equivalent OR High School diploma or GED AND Two years of experience required in the Wildlife Resources Division as a Fisheries Technician 2 (NRT061) or position equivalent Preferred Qualifications: Preference may be given to applicants with the following: -Completion of an Associate's degree or higher in Fisheries Management -Six months or more of freshwater fisheries management work experience -Current DNR/WRD Employees NOTE: Applicants must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or be eligible to obtain a CDL. Those hired on a position requiring a CDL who do not possess a CDL will be expected to obtain a CDL within 12 months to perform their job.
