Deadline: Tue, 02/06/2024 - 12:00pm Employer: Georgia Department of Natural Resources Job Field: Fisheries Job Type: Full Time Location: Georgia Location Detail: Clarkesville, Georgia Job Description: Manages the technical support of research, surveys, and public waters management projects aimed at protecting, assessing, and improving fisheries of rivers and lakes in Georgia. Assists the Burton District's Fisheries Biologist with all aspects of fisheries sampling, data collection, and data processing. Responds to fish kill incidents and requests for technical assistance on a variety of fisheries issues. Responsible for maintaining all field sampling equipment, coordinating the district's Community Fishing Program, conducting fish stockings on assigned waterbodies, maintaining boat ramps, and serving on the region's emergency response task force. Provides support to other work units for field sampling and trout hatchery assistance during peak demand periods.
