Measure, weigh, and identify fish caught; interview anglers and record data. Activities would also include deployment of a variety of assessment gear and collection of biological data on target fish species, and accurately tabulate, enter, and summarize biological data. This individual frequently works independently without direct supervision and works cooperatively with external partners on projects as needed. 10% Lead other LTE Fisheries Technicians performing creel census duties. 70% Independently or under general supervision perform creel census clerk duties and collect fish information on designated waters. Measure, weigh and identify fish caught. Interview anglers. Record data. 20% Compile and analyze data and prepare written documentation and/or reports. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Ability and willingness to work a variable schedule (including weekend and holiday days) Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and use of e-mail. Ability to conduct field work with minimal supervision in a variety of weather conditions. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the public Ability to record required data accurately and legibly Preferred Qualifications: Experience summarizing and entering data into computer databases Experience with fisheries survey work and equipment maintenance is desired Knowledge and skills in general fisheries management principles or natural resource management. Miscellaneous: This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position.
