This position will be primarily responsible for organizing and working as a field crew member on a hurricane recovery project. It will also involve working on field and lab research projects for Forest Health and Silviculture labs. The position is stationed at the UGA Forest Health Lab on the UGA Tifton Campus. Primarily fieldwork in south Georgia, with opportunities to work on many different projects including computer, lab, and fieldwork associated with those projects. Tasks will include organizing fieldwork days, taking precise field measurements, collecting samples, rating insect damage, data entry in excel, and other tasks as assigned. May include some overnight travel. This is an 8 month position. 

successful applicants will be able to work outdoors for extended periods in adverse weather conditions, including extreme humidity and heat, possibly encountering stinging insects, and other wildlife (including snakes). Fieldwork will also include traversing over uneven terrain through thick vegetation. Need to be able to maintain a high level of data quality collection in these conditions. Lift 40lbs. Driving safely to field sites with some undeveloped road driving.
