Job Description:

The Forest Improvement Analyst will provide forest genetics and silviculture analysis and support to Westervelt Woodlands focused on leveraging value and quality throughout an integrated forest management system. Lead tree improvement breeding and testing activities, forest management cooperative trials, and internal silviculture testing and performance analysis. Provide soils, remote sensing, prescription, and other technical support to forest management plans across four Woodlands Regions encompassing over 500,000 acres of company-owned timberland in the Southeast.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Horticulture or related field

Advanced in Microsoft Office Suite

Minimum of three years in silviculture, forest management or relevant field

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Knowledge of Data Science and statistical analysis

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Self-motivated and detail oriented

 

Preferred Experience:

 

Master's degree forestry/silviculture

Proficient in statistics and data, R, SAS, Minitab, and etc.

Salary:
The base salary range for this position is $68,600 - $102,900. Actual base salary is based on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
