Responsibilities will include client and vendor communication, budgeting, reporting, timber sale negotiation and administration, development of stand-level silvicultural prescriptions, financial analysis, and contracting of forestry-related services. Candidate will occasionally participate in consulting projects outside of the local area. Overnight travel will be required approximately 10% of the time. All necessary travel costs will be reimbursed. Qualifications and Abilities: Bachelor’s Degree in ForestryMust be a Registered Forester in a Southern U.S. State or meet the necessary requirements to obtain this designation within 6 months of date of hirePreferably 5+ years of working forestry experience Knowledge and experience with both pine and hardwood silvicultureKnowledge and experience with the sale of timberField proficiency with various forest inventory/mensuration techniques and methodologiesKnowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suiteStrong written and verbal communication skillsTime management skills – coordination of multiple concurrent projectsAbility to work in remote outdoor locations in various weather and forest conditionsKnowledge and experience with GIS software Job Field: Forestry Job Type: Full Time Location Detail: Southwest Louisiana Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
