The association has over 2000 members across all sectors of the forestry sector in Georgia. The Georgia Forestry Association (GFA) summer internship program will provide a student the opportunity to network with Georgia’s forestry community, learn about the critical issues facing the industry in Georgia, and support the mission of the organization. GFA’s Forest Policy and Economics summer intern will: » Lead a focus project involving research and a final presentation related to Georgia’s forest policyor economy. This year's project will be focused on workforce development. » Assist GFA’s Government Affairs Team on short-term projects related to policy and advocacy » Assist with GFA’s Annual Conference at Jekyll Island, GA (July 28-30) » Assist with day-to-day operations of the Association » A limited amount of travel (in/out of state) may be required Miscellaneous: May-August 2023, 12 weeks, 40hrs/wk Office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday. (Annual Conference hours are an exception to this schedule). Must provide own housing and have reliable transportation. Salary: Pay $17.00/hour -depending on skill level and applicable experience.
