Employer North Dakota Forest Service Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills The Forest Stewardship Specialist provides technical forest management assistance and support statewide to private forest landowners and partner agency staff through a partnership with USDA Forest Service State, Private, and Tribal Forestry. Work includes the sustainable management of windbreaks and other conservation tree plantings as well as native upland and riparian forests. Duties include both office and field responsibilities and require coordination, policy interpretation and individual initiative to resolve issues as they arise. This position is based in the Walhalla Field Office and requires travel and field work. The Forest Stewardship Specialist works at the direction of the Forest Stewardship Manager to implement the North Dakota Forest Action Plan.
