The Forester we need is analytical, a team player, and a forward thinker. This individual should be able to work independently and be willing to get their hands dirty. Our Foresters use working and applied knowledge of forestry skills and perform all aspects of forestry-related fieldwork and analysis. They design and implement timber harvesting plan programs to ensure continuous timber production or assist clients in achieving other timber or wildlife habitat management objectives. They assist in planning, administering, and inspecting other forestry-related activities such as road construction, timber marking, silviculture, surveys, tract inspections, and boundary establishment. This position will also use various technologies like GIS to assist in managing lands.

Additional Requirements:

-If offered within the state of employment, has a current Registered Forester’s license or ability to become a Registered Forester within three years of employment, or its equivalent. (Forester I only)

-Required travel and ability to function as a team member on large projects throughout the U.S.

-Associates Degree or Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Forestry or closely related field.

-Pay: Salaried position with eligibility for annual bonus and new business bonus plan

-Valid driver’s license

Location:

-AFM Charlotte, NC office. Preference for individual to reside within 30-45 minutes west/northwest of Troy, NC (Cabarrus, Stanly, Davidson and Rowan Counties preferred). Residence can be negotiated.
