Job Description:

The successful candidates, under direction from the Supervising Forester, will primarily perform tasks associated with management of Conservation Easement and Forest Preserve lands for the Potsdam Sub-Office. The following are the major duties that will be performed:

  • Prepare Unit Management Plans (UMP) and Recreation Management Plans (RMPs) and implement actions scheduled in approved UMPs and RMPs.
  • Address recreational issues including working with volunteers through Volunteer Stewardship Agreements.
  • Oversee Temporary Revocable Permits, including preparation of special conditions.
  • Develop work plans for projects implemented on DEC administered lands.
  • Conduct Conservation Easement monitoring and ensure compliance of easement terms.
  • Administer the 480A Forest Tax Law Program on Conservation Easement Lands.
