Job Description:

Eastern Forest Consultants-NC LLC, a North Carolina-based company, is seeking applicants to fill an entry to mid-level forester position at their Christiansburg, Virginia location. This is a labor-intensive field position, and the successful applicant should expect to spend >90% of their time working outdoors. Typical duties include conducting timber inventories, preparing timber sales, planting trees/running planting crews, and applying herbicides. The position may include a heavy amount of out-of-town travel (up to 50%) for which employee will be compensated.

 

Qualifications:

Applicant should be able to identify eastern tree species and have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Forestry. Previous work experience in the forestry profession (especially in regards to conducting timber inventories) is preferred but not required. The successful applicant must demonstrate an ability to work independently.

Salary:
Starting salary is dependent upon education and experience/qualifications but is expected to be $32-$37k per year.
