Job Description:

Job Description – Midsouth Forestry Services is seeking a Forester who will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of forest management of client’s property, including but not limited to writing and implementing forest management plans, timber harvest planning, timber sale layout and administration, timber cruising and inventory management, GPS/GIS Mapping, developing and executing site preparation and reforestation plans, and maintaining compliance with 3rd party certification standards (FSC, SFI, ATFS).

Qualifications:

Required:

o Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry or related field.

o Have a Registered Forester’s license or the ability to obtain license within 2 years.

o Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ESRI ArcGIS Pro, TCruise, and Trimble SoloForest.

o Ability to work and navigate in remote outdoor locations in various weather and forest conditions.

o Strong verbal and written communication skills and time management skills.

o Teamwork, critical thinking, analytical skills and problem-solving skills.

• Preferred:

o 2 + years of working forestry experience but will consider candidates with less experience.

o Field experience in various forest inventory techniques and methods.

o Ability to locate property boundaries and establish timber sale and streamside management zone boundaries.

Salary:
