Employer F&W Forestry Job Description, Responsibilities and Required Qualifications or Skills RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities will be field work consisting of forest inventories,timber and boundary marking; collecting GPS field data, prescribed burning, logging supervision,planting supervision in addition to other detailed organizational skills with files and paperwork.Occasional travel out of town will be required for inventory work. REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking a highly motivated individual with the ability to workindependently, as well as in a team environment. A minimum of a two-year forestry degree isrequired. An additional 2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar forestry field is preferred. Computerskills and other digital skills will be necessary. Good written and verbal communication skills arerequired.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Includes the ability to traverse distances over one mile on uneventerrain; work in outdoor forested areas for extended periods in a variety of environmentalconditions; occasionally carry 5 to 10 pounds of equipment over longer distances for extendedperiods of time. Must be able to work independently during a work week and complete tasks in atimely manner. Must have an insurable driving record.
