Forester

This position’s primary duties will focus on working on two main project types. First, working with non-industrial private forest landowners on their land. Projects usually involve timber harvesting to reduce fire hazard and improve forest health, non-commercial fuels reduction operations, and reforestation. Second, working on Good Neighbor Authority projects on federal land. Projects usually involve assessing land for forest health and fire risk, writing silvicultural prescriptions, mapping, report writing, conducting unit layout, and conducting inventory on the units to assist the State with their contract package.   

This position will also incorporate qualitative and quantitative assessments into Forest Stewardship Plans, NRCS CPA 106 plans, timber management, and county tax plans. This position will be located along the WA/ID border to focus on growing our business footprint in Spokane and Kootenai counties and will report to the Spokane District Manager. They will be responsible for forest management on multiple properties under AFM management, assist in new business development for private, tribal, and government clients, and other tasks assigned by the District and Region Managers.
