Currently, our Forestry Division in Anderson, California has an opening for a forester with working knowledge of forest practices and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).About the PositionLeverage modern technology for on-the-ground forestry applicationsCollaborate with internal, agency, and contract technical specialists to perform data queries and analysis using GISManage essential files and reports related to the Company’s Stewardship Agreement with USFSEffectively and accurately generate maps and resource reportsInstall, troubleshoot, and manage various forestry-related programs and softwareMaintain and update critical GIS map files and associated data in relational databasesAccurately read, analyze, and interpret maps and aerial photography QualificationsBachelors’ degree in Forestry, GIS, or Natural ResourcesDemonstrated experience using ArcGIS Pro and GIS systemsWorking knowledge of forest practicesDemonstrated capability installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer programs and softwareProficiency with Microsoft ExcelFamiliarity with standard data collection tools such as iPads and GPS and file sharing/data management appsExperience with QGIS and Avenza is desirableDemonstrated organizational skills with superior attention to detailPositive attitude, self-motivated, ability to work as a team member in a crew environmentValid California driver’s license, or ability to obtain upon acceptance of job offer Job Field: Forestry GIS/Technology Job Type: Full Time Location Detail: Anderson, CA Salary: $70,000 to $90,000 per year is the general wage range for this position at Sierra Pacific Industries and is dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to: relevant work experience, skill, knowledge, and/or education.
