Job Description:

Eastern Forest Consultants-NC LLC, a North Carolina-based company, is seeking applicants to fill a forester-team leader position at their Christiansburg, Virginia location.  This is a labor-intensive field position, and the successful applicant should expect to spend >90% of their time working outdoors.  Typical duties include conducting timber inventories, preparing timber sales, planting trees/running planting crews, and applying herbicides.  The forester-team leader is also responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of EFC staff (1-4 members) in Christiansburg, VA.  The position may include a heavy amount of out-of-town travel (up to 50%) for which employee will be compensated. 

Qualifications:

Applicant should be able to identify eastern tree species.  A B.S or M.S in Forestry and a minimum of two (2) years of previous work experience in the forestry profession is required.  The applicant should be an experienced timber cruiser and/or have a Virginia Pesticide Applicator’s License in Forest Pest Control.  The successful applicant must demonstrate the capability to lead a team but also have the ability to work independently. 

Salary:
$45-48,000/year
